On Friday September 10, the Six Man Express headed to one of our favorite venues- AT&T Ropes Stadium in Ropesville. The Eagles were hosting the heavily favored Ira Bulldogs who were ranked #2 in the state rankings. Well the Ropes Eagles did not read those rankings and they gave the Bulldogs all they could handle. At one point in the third quarter the Eagles had a 20 point lead only to fall to Bulldogs 90-88 in the highest scoring game I have ever seen. Ropes had a chance to send it OT by scoring a TD with seconds to go but missed the PAT. Even though they fell short, Coach Greeneagle had to be proud of those boys. I am sure the Bulldogs were happy to get back to the Big Country with a W. Ed, Jr. and Lucas had a big time playing the cotton fields behind the stadium.
The confession stand was above average with the contiuation of the procedure of distributing hamburger condiments in individual ziploc baggies. They sausage was a little dry and the ketchup was left over from last year. That won't keep us from coming back. Of course the highlight of the game was the dog agility demonstration. It was awesome. I enjoyed helping get the all the equipment off the field. Even Ed, Jr. jumped in and got stuff to the sideline.
